digIN is on Hiatus for 2012
The digIN Committee had another fantastic turnout last fall; thank you everyone for sharing in the fun. Because we don't want to "run out" of farm and home sites, the committee will try to organize this event every other year.

Movie Night featuring
Your parents and grandparents probably had beautiful, lush green gardens full of fruits and vegetables as you were growing up. Remember how much fun it was to help pick fresh foods to cook with? And how absolutely delicious those meals were? Chances are, for one reason or another, you don't have a garden now. But why? "DUG," which stands for Decorah Urban Gardens arranged a special tour of four Decorah gardens to show digIN guests just how easy it is to get started and how simple gardens can be to maintain. Whether you live in town or in the country - everyone should be enjoying the simple pleasures of producing your very own food! It's good for your health and it's good for the environment.
"Decorah Urban Gardens is a volunteer community of gardeners working to improve life via the urban landscape. Their mission is to stimulate the creation of more (and better) gardens of vegetables, fruits, herbs and flowers by acting as a network of and advocate for urban gardeners. Their projects have ranged from facilitating a garden-mentoring program for new gardeners to pushing for sensible city ordinances."
The idea is brilliant and simple; anyone can construct a raised bed garden just about anywhere! It's perfect for people who have poor soil or limited space.
